Columbine is a stock character in the Commedia dell’Arte. She is the mistress of Harlequin’s mistress, a comic servant and wife of Pierrot. Rudlin and Crick use the Italian spelling Colombina in Commedia dell’arte: A Handbook for Troupes. Reference: Wikipedia
